T minus negative 1 day

I know I am using a double negative in my subject line, but that is the best way to describe it. I am one day past my due date. So yes, like the counter on the side bar says, my baby should be 1 day old, but she is in fact still hanging out inside my uterus.

Here is a picture of me today at 40 weeks, 1 day.

The plan is to induce me this next Thursday, when I will be a week overdue. I was totally fine with that plan up until yesterday when I decided to take a peek at the baby on ultrasound and found out she is already measuring at 8 lbs 7 oz! Yikes. With a week still to go, I feel like I am going to give birth to a giant. I know lots of you have had big babies, and I know it's not the end of the world, but I kind of just wanted a smaller baby. Of course the ultrasound isn't 100% accurate, but still, I am getting a little freaked out.

Other than that, I am just still coming to work every day, and considering getting a shirt that says "Yes, I'm still here" so I don't have to respond to EVERYONE who asks me if and why I'm still here. I guess I could quit coming to work, but all I would do then is sit on the couch and twiddle my thumbs waiting to go into labor so I figure I'm better of just coming in to work.

I'm hoping my next post will be a picture of Mckinley, but I can't make any promises....

You look so cute! Ultrasounds can be quite off on weights. Mine was well over a pound off and some of Dustin's family has had them be almost two pounds off, so don't panic about a big baby yet. Anyway, having had a small baby, I would much rather have a big one next time, they are easier to handle and seem to be more content. Good luck :)

castor oil always works:) i used it with carter after i was 3 days over. i had had it. it works....just a thought. good luck!!

No offense to Kari-Lynn but castor oil is the nastiest stuff in the world. I took it with Taelynn and first of all it didn't work and secondly she had a bowel movement before I delivered.

I think you are doing the right thing by continuing to go to work- cuz time would go sooooooo slow if you were just sitting at home waiting. The wait will be over soon :) Best of luck with delivery- try not to worry too much about the weight, I've never had those be right.

I know exactly how you feel! I was induced a week past my due date. I went to a Relief Society sleep-over with my mom 4 days after I was due and everyone was like, What are you doing here?! I was so ready to have my baby outside of my belly! I guess it's good I went that extra week as my little guy was only 6 lbs 11 oz! Hopefully yours won't be as big as it says! But even so, I'm sure you'll labor and deliver her like a champ! I can't wait to see pictures!

you look AMAZING full term. so not fair...i was a big blob long before this point! and still going to work?? you're superwoman!! :) your tummy doesn't look big enough to hold an 8 pounder. just so you know, i've had a 9 pounder and a 7 pounder and they felt the exact same coming out. oh...i guess you're more concerned with the baby's size after it's out... well, it will still feel like a tiny newborn no matter the weight! can't wait to see pics!!!

I can't believe it is time! I hope baby girl comes soon, too. Can't wait to meet her!

You've dropped, or I should say she has. She definitely looks lower. I can't believe you're still working! I'd stay at home and clean, etc. but I suppose you've already done that. You could make freezer meals! Maybe it would induce labor naturally. You're right about her being a May baby! You could have your membranes stripped if you don't want to wait until Thursday. I've heard Castor oil works for some and that for others it just causes diarrhea and cramping. Red raspberry leaf tea helps strengthen but not induce. Bowling! I agree with Emily's comment's as well! Good luck and can't wait to see pics!

Can't wait to meet her. How are you carrying around that big of a baby. You are still so tiny!! Good luck. Don't forget to call me when you have her.

I figured the bigger the baby the less weight I had to lose. You should take work off and we can go on walks and jump on trampolines and stuff to put you into labor. My doctor said that sex is the best way to put you into labor.

I'm sure (or hope I guess) that being at work helps the time pass :) I'm just glad you're feeling good enough to be there all day! And even though life will only get sweeter with your little girl in it, soak up the time with just you and Brandon :) (which I saw you did in the Picnic post :)

But at the same time I'm sure you want to avoid the induction if possible...sex & bowling (good call Hannah!)...never thought I'd say those 2 words together :) haha Ive heard that sex'll do it, and I almost went bowling the night before Brooks was born, I have no doubt he would've been born sooner if I would've hit the lanes :) Either way, good luck with everything! Love you and can't wait to see pics & eventually meet this little angel!

I know how you feel. I went a week overdue and I didn't go to work that week. You are a strong woman! I won't give you any advice on how to get her out because I tried EVERYTHING and it just doesn't work. Just keep your head up, she will be here soon and she will be worth the wait!
