3 Weeks Old

Here is a picture of our baby girl today, at 3 weeks old. I didn't think much of her being 3 weeks old today until I went to my friend Cyleste's house to see her 3 day old baby and wow, I can't believe how big Mckinley looked compared to her. I guess it's hard for me to see because I get to stare at her all day long every day, but she really is growing up! Darn it.

Isn't she adorable?

Life is going along well, except for the before mentioned breastfeeding woes. And the fact that Mckinley decided she doesn't like her bed. Still working on that one...
We were finally able to give her a real bath and it went over a lot better than the sponge baths. She doesn't look too happy in this picture but it is a lot better than the screaming she used to do during her sponge baths.
I have a small obsession with kids when they are getting their hair shampooed. They just look so funny. I think it's so cute.

My awesome sister-in-law Shellee had her 22nd birthday on Tuesday. No one in our family can blow out birthday candles without the help of Brynlee and Haley. :)

I love this picture. Mckinley sure loves her daddy.

Mckinley loves to hold on to something while she eats.

See what I mean? She's got a tight grip!!! It's so cute.

Last night Mckinley watched her dad play softball for the first time. It's crazy to think that next year when we go she will be walking around...
Life is awesome. I love not going to work! I'm glad I'm taking 12 weeks instead of 6 because my leave would already be half over if I was just taking 6. We are soaking up every minute we have with this sweet girl. Brandon loves her WAAAAY more than he loves me. And I'm okay with that...for right now anyway. I love her a lot too....just wish I could figure out how to keep feeding her and let myself heal at the same time. Hmmm....

i'm so sorry the breastfeeding isn't going as planned. it was really painful for me too for at least 3 months. if you stick with it i promise it gets better and its worth it. i didn't believe people when they told me that but now having gone through that, i am a believer. good luck.

I love the pics. Sorry, I know it is aweful feeding in the begining, but after the aweful pain in the begining and before teeth, it is amazing. Doesn't time fly by.

I totally understand what you are talking about with the feeding. Try to talk to a lactation nurse if you haven't already- they are my favorite!!! So helpful! She is beautiful Stephanie. Congrats again :)

I love the photo of Brandon and Mckinley - her eyes are so engaged. He is a proud papa, no doubt!

So so cute! Isn't it crazy how fast they grow??

I had a terrible time with breastfeeding for the first month or two. It was so incredibly painful! My doctor prescribed an awesome salve that helped tremendously. I also pumped a lot because it was less painful and unlike E's hit and miss latch, it wasn't going to make things worse.

And it really does get better!

Wow, time has gone by fast. I love all the pics.

Breastfeeding, argh...I gave up on my first 2, and I regret it. Determined to nurse my last 2. Whoa, it is difficult. I was crazy to say the least. Anyway with lots of support from the lactation clinic, which I highly recommend, I nursed the last 2 for over 1 year. Hang in there.

Breastfeeding is probably the hardest thing I've ever done in my life so I hear ya on the woes! It does get better if you can figure out what's causing the problems!! Good luck! She's a doll!
