Cabin Trip

The kids were so excited for this cabin trip. They all made paper chains and were counting down for a couple of weeks. We had a great trip for Ava's first time at the cabin.

Out on the paddle boat as a family. We're not all going to fit on that thing for much longer.

We drove over by my Grandpa's old cabin to go on a hike, and later regretted it. The hike was okay but we easily could have stayed put and walked by the lake where we were instead of driving so far. Lesson learned.

All of the artists at work.

Ava was pretty dang good while we were there. She woke up a lot the first night but Brandon really enjoyed snuggling with her in our bed. She napped pretty well and was mostly happy while we were there.

The kids had fun making their own pizzas for dinner. And then after they were cooked, Tyler had a 4 hour meltdown about having to eat one. Brandon was so patient with him and got him to eat a piece in the end, but my gosh, that kid has some ISSUES!!

My mom made this awesome hammock that we had a blast in. Until the last day when Kallie fell out of hit and bit threw her lip. Ouch!

S'mores!

Summer Fun

Summertime is exhausting. Fun, but exhausting. And hot. We spend a lot of time inside.

Concert in the Park on Sundays in June is one of our favorite traditions. Ava's first time of course. We have loved it.

The kids love going to Springwater park where they can go look at the goats and feed them and pet them. The baby goats this year are really cute.

I took the kids to the Springville splash pad. The water was too cold for Ava, but we had a good time anyway.

Fun times at Grandpa and Marmee's with cousins.

11 Years

Brandon and I celebrated our 11th anniversary on June 9th. This year sure was an amazing one and we are at such a good place right now, absolutely loving life!

Brandon's dad printed this cute sign for Mckinley to cut out for us.

We had a fabulous date planned. I asked my mom if all the kids could sleep at her house since I knew we would be gone late. They had a blast of course. So after I dropped them off there I went and got Brandon from work and we had dinner at Carrabba's. Another terrible selfie, ha ha, but it's the only picture I have from the night. Dinner was amazing, as always.

After dinner we headed to the movies. We had tickets to Wonder Woman and both of us were so excited to see it. We walked up to our seats only to find out someone else was sitting in them. Brandon tried to kick them out of our seats but the girl pulled out her tickets and sure enough, both of us had tickets for seats G9 and 10. Brandon noticed that the dates were different so we went to the ticket booth to talk to them about it. The girl sold us tickets for Saturday night instead of Friday night, and of course we had no idea. When you tell someone you want tickets for Friday night, and they sell you tickets, who would ever think to check what date is printed on them? Well, we will forever more now. But anyway, the theater was sold out so there was nothing we could do. The general manager came and talked to us and once he found out it was our anniversary and that we had a babysitter and a time crunch, he felt so bad and did everything he could to make it better. They gave us our money back, with an additional pair of tickets, and gave us drinks and popcorn and sent us in to watch Megan Leavey, a movie we never would have chosen to watch. We were on the 2nd row as well. So a funny experience, but honestly, the movie was okay and we still had fun.

After the movie we headed up to Sundance for the moonlight chairlift ride. This was my first time ever being on a ski lift. Like, ever. It was so fun. We had a great time just chatting and relaxing for about an hour in the mountains, in the dark. Anyway, we had a fabulous night and such a fun time celebrating our anniversary.

I have been loving all the flowers in our front yard right now.

Ava just keeps getting cuter and cuter.

Mckinley got to go to work with Ross for the Force For Good day and do service with her cousins. She had a blast and now she thinks she is a "teenager" because she was old enough to go and do that. Ha ha ha.

Kallie couldn't fall asleep one night and finally just laid on the couch by me while I exercised. She fell asleep five minutes into my video.

I heard Kallie parading around the house on the wood floor in what I thought were high heels. Well, I guess they are high heels. Build a bear high heels. Bahahaha.

Summer Kick-Off

Memorial Day always feels like the kick-off to summer. We got to go swimming at a family friend's house. The kids could have swam all day. They had a blast.

And then it was officially the first day of school being out. The kids got to watch Beauty and the Beast and then I took them to the Bean Museum.

They each got to pick out something from the gift shop.

Wednesday we spent most of the day at my mom's which of course the kids loved.

I could tell there was something stuck in Ava's baby toy so I took it apart and we found two of Tyler's treasured toys that he must have jammed in there years ago.

One of them was his tiny car. This thing came in an Easter Egg when Tyler was less than 2 years old and it has been lost and resurfaced again so many times. Whenever it is found, he sleeps with it and plays with it constantly. So funny that we found it again! I thought for sure it was lost in our old house. Ha ha ha.

Thursday I took the kids to visit Brandon at work and then we went to the mall and checked out the fountains and new play place for the first time.

Ava has been doing this super cheesy grin and I'm glad I finally caught it on camera.

Friday was a baaaaad day. The kids woke up Ava from her nap and it just set me off and I was so mean and horrible that day. Luckily Brandon and I had a temple date scheduled that night because boy did I need it. This is the longest we have gone without going to the temple, 15 months! That's what being sick while pregnant and then having a fussy baby will do you to you. And our selfie is so bad I just had to include it. Ha ha!

Brandon and his dad and brothers are training for the Salt to Saint bike relay race again, so they go riding lots. I'm so happy to support him in his new hobby. This is Ava with Brandon's dad before a ride.

Ava got a fever for a few days and I sure soaked up all the snuggle time I got with her. It was heavenly. We're glad to have her back to her normal self now though.

She is getting so chunky!

For family night this week we talked about education and then looked through Tyler and Kallie's joy school binders. For a treat we went and got free donuts for Mckinley getting straight A's.

Kallie started a fairy tale dance class today that is so cute and so much fun! We are having a fabulous summer so far.
