More February

Cutie Ava. Such a naughty baby, but oh so cute.

I put Kallie's hair in braids one day and it lasted for the next 6 days. She has the most incredible hair.

The Bean Museum is always a hit for our kids. We went when we had a day off of school, President's Day or something.

Mckinley's Moana painting. This girl is so incredibly artistic. Kallie is following in her footsteps as well.

Brandon and I got to sit on the 2nd row at the Jazz game. Such a great night! My parents babysat and Ava cried for 2 hours. Yikes.

My mission companion Camile got to go back to the Philippines. She was so nice to get pictures and videos for me from some of my favorite people. She kept me informed the whole trip of how everything was going and who she had seen and it was seriously the next best thing if I couldn't be there myself. It was incredible to relive some of my mission memories. So amazing!!!

Valentine's Day

On February 12th Ava turned 4 months old. She is still pretty dang fussy but has more happy moments, and is still a great sleeper. She finally got back to sleeping all night long after our Disneyland trip. Woohoo!

We got her ears pierced the week before she turned 4 months. They were horrible so we took them out and got them redone a few days later. Now I am considering getting them redone a third time because they are uneven, one higher than the other. It's so hard since we don't have great earlobes. Sigh.

Kristen was supposed to get induced on the 17th but instead her water broke at home and she had baby Rayne on the 12th, exactly 4 months after Ava. She is tiny and so cute!

Tyler and Kallie got to pass out valentines to their joy school friends. I had them cut them out and sign them themselves and I love them so much.

I had to dress her in red for Love day. Brandon and his brothers cooked a delicious dinner for all of us wives and the kids went next door to watch a movie. Such a fun Valentine's night!

Tyler put on Mckinley's boots, coat, backpack, and glasses and then gave me this super cheesy smile. He cracks me up!

It's been a rough couple of months at our house but somehow through it all I am keeping the kids alive and occasionally we are making good memories. I feel so inadequate as a mom and I feel like I fail my family every day. They deserve so much better.

February

Cute smiles from this babe!

Her older siblings are still obsessed.

If smothering could kill, Ava's life would be over and Kallie would be the culprit.

Love her.

Mckinley whipped out this masterpiece on the chalk board at Menchies in seriously just a few minutes. She has some crazy artistic talent.

Tyler and Kallie are going to take naps forever.

I love that kids are still entertained with simple things like boxes.

Tyler and Kallie destroyed the family room.

One week Brandon and I got Shannon to babysit so we could go to PF Changs. Ava cried for her most of the night. Then a few days later Kristen watched our kids and we went to Purple Turtle. Mckinley decided to come with us. It was nice going on a few dates!

Mckinley got a free book from the book fair and picked out one about these girls that try on all different sorts of hats. Then she started creating some of the hats from her book. She is so amazing! I keep telling her she was born into the wrong family. She is too amazing for us. She has so much potential that she doesn't reach because we hold her back. I feel so bad about it all the time.

Family date night to Cold Stone!

Disneyland - Day 5

The last time we went to Disneyland we ended up doing 2 days at California Adventure. Brandon and I were both torn about where to go the 3rd day and honestly we were wishing we just bought a 2 day pass. We were kind of just done. There were a few things I still wanted to do in both parks but we could only choose one and we knew we would go where the whole group went.

Disneyland it was.

Thursday was our worst day ever, even with the magic morning pass, it was so crowded and every single ride had insanely long rides.

I got to ride Autopia for the first time in my life.

Then we hit up Toon Town which the kids had never seen. We did so much sitting around, it felt like kind of a wasted day.

We walked inside Mickey's House for two seconds. We would have had to wait 45 minutes to go to Minnie's house. So lame.

Brandon got to take Mckinley and Tyler on Splash Mountain and they closed down the ride right after they got on because of a medical emergency so those of us waiting with babies couldn't go.

I wanted to go on Indiana Jones really bad. It's one of my favorite rides and I haven't been on it for years. But the wait was way too long. Brandon took the kids up to Tarzan's Treehouse, then we waited in line for Nemo, rode the monorail for the first time, and headed home. The worst of our 3 days in the parks but we still made some good memories.

We went home and got in the hot tub for our last night there. Friday we drove the whole way home and our kids were amazing. Ava seriously slept almost the whole way home. It was incredible! We went from warm weather back to freezing again. We got out in Nephi at the gas station to go to the bathroom and the kids and I had to run out across the back parking lot to the bathrooms. It was 5 degrees outside and the kids were in shorts and short sleeve shirts. Brr!!! We were choking on the cold air. Anyway, it was a fabulous trip to Disneyland, it went so much better than I could have expected. And now I think we're good for another year or two!

Disneyland - Day 4

Wednesday we took a break from the parks. We went swimming at the pool and had a great time.

Then we headed off to the beach. We always go to Huntington Beach and eat at the restaurant out on the pier but we tried something new this year and went to Laguna Beach. The reason we went there was for some tide pools which totally didn't pan out but hey, the beach was close and had easy access and the kids loved it so it was perfect.

Ava was super fussy getting ready to go to the beach and then she slept for us almost the entire time we were there. I'll take it!

It was a little chilly but the kids had fun getting their feet wet and playing in the sand.

I forgot to mention that on Sunday night three people threw up. Kallie, Abby, and Emery. But then they were all fine Monday to go to Disneyland. Wednesday morning while we were at the pool Shellee was throwing up in her room. Brandon started feeling sick at the beach but we still went out to eat with everyone in Laguna Beach before we went back to the hotel. He threw up in the middle of the night and then was fine. Kade also threw up that night. And since we have been home two more people have gotten sick. So there was a weird bug going around, but luckily it was pretty mild and didn't slow us down too much.

The sun was setting as we were driving to the restaurant and I snapped this picture as we drove by.
