St. Patrick's Day

Having kids definitely helps us to be a little more festive and celebrate holidays. On St. Patrick's Day we made a green breakfast for dinner.

French Toast.

Green milk. Mckinley's thoughts on the green milk: "It's sooo beautiful Mom."

Green eggs.

Kristen let us borrow Maverik's bib for some pictures.

And I thought it would be fun to make green formula for the babies.

Tyler's green barf after looked disgusting. ;)

Spring

This was the longest, coldest winter Utah has seen in a long time. EVERYONE is so excited for Spring. So as soon as it got a little warm, we spent as much time as we could outside going on walks and going to the park.

Mckinley started out being really scared to go down any slides by herself, even tiny ones in people's back yards. But thanks to a really fun picnic we went on as a family, Brandon helped her be brave enough to do it on her own. And she did. Again and again and again.

This is the picnic. We packed a lunch and walked to the park near our house. I hope to do this pretty much every Saturday for the rest of the summer as long as it is nice weather.

Mckinley laying down eating her sandwich.

A bit harder to get a family shot with self portraits these days so we did it in two pictures.

The babies were of course angels and slept in their car seats while we had our picnic.

Pretty sure Mckinley would swing on the swing for hours if we let her.

Still learning to not be scared of the slide...

Brandon started chasing her so she would run and go down the slide by herself. Finally!

So cute! Yay for warm weather. Can't wait till it comes back and is here to stay.

Kallie and Tyler

Kallie and Tyler are coming up on 6 months. They are so stinking awesome and so fun. I think Tyler is the better baby right now, mostly because Kallie is a pain to feed. She doesn't have a huge appetite, but she does love her sleep. They are both great babies and we just love them to death.

They are so big! Definitely not big enough to share things like bouncer chairs anymore. They have been in separate cribs since about 4 months.

Ha ha, Kallie doesn't like it when he gets in her space.

Ah! Cuteness!

Love their smiles.

Poor Tyler still spits up like there is no tomorrow. It is the worst thing I have to deal with (yes, I know I'm lucky if that's the worst thing I have to deal with). It's driving me insane. The poor guy will spit up and then lay in it sometimes. :(

They love their exersaucers so much!

Ha! Tyler has been rolling on to his stomach forever now and he even does it when he's eating and then tries to drink his bottle this way. Not gonna work buddy.

I haven't written very much about what they do on this blog, I keep a journal for them. But they both roll to their stomachs, and are both starting to get their knees up underneath them when they're on their stomachs. We are working on sitting up alone, it's hard to find time to help them though. They have both slept through the night since 3 months, Kallie started at 2 1/2. They got a nasty long lasting cold in February that kept them up a little more at night and now we are sick again with another cold but they are still pretty happy and good. Tyler loves to eat, and it shows. He is so chubby and I think he weighs about 3 pounds more than Kallie. He is about 16 pounds and she is hopefully up to 13 by now. We'll find out for sure at their 6 month appointment next week. Tyler has always been so smiley and happy and will sometimes burst into laughter when you're not even looking at him. Anyone can get him to laugh so easy. Kallie has an adorable smile and a cute, deep sounding laugh. She is so peaceful and literally just closes her eyes and goes to sleep when you lay her in her crib. She struggles to finish her bottles most of the time and is really hard to feed. We want her to gain weight so it's kind of a struggle but she is doing okay. She took longer than Tyler to learn to roll to her stomach but she does it all the time now, and then often cries when she's on her stomach. Her favorite place is in the exersaucer. Tyler will get to his stomach and then turn in circles and scoot all around the floor to reach things he wants. Which is a problem because then he barfs all over the carpet. Grr. But he's so cute and we love him anyway. Neither of them poop very often, like once or twice a week. Kallie has never had a blowout or a diaper rash. Tyler gets rashes all the time. They both love the bath and love to splash in the water and they don't care when Mckinley helps me bathe them and pours water right over their face. They both love Mckinley and she is so cute when she plays with them. They interact with each other a lot and always hold hands when I am nursing them together. I still nurse them as much as I can but I have never made enough milk for both of them so they have always had to be supplemented with formula. They drink more formula now than breast milk, by a long shot. But I haven't given up yet. Anyway, that's about all I can think of for now. We also started feeding them baby food last night, but that will be a post of its own.

Mckinley

Seriously can not get enough of Mckinley. She is the funnest two year old there ever was. I can't believe she's so close to turning three! Love her to pieces.

Her hair is getting so long. And boy does this girl LOVE the bath. She would take three baths a day if I let her.

Still in love with her stuffed animals. She put them to bed and covered them with coordinating blankets. (of course)

She loves to help me sweep up the crumbs under her bar stool where she eats. Yay for kids doing chores!

She is obsessed with playing outside in our tiny little backyard. We are so excited for warm weather to come and stay!

We go hang out at Kristen's or my mom's whenever we can and always have a blast. She is so good to nap anywhere we go. Here she is in Kristen's bed.

And in my mom's bed. For some reason whenever she naps at my mom's she naps forever! Sometimes I have to wake her up at the end of the day to go home. And while we're on the subject of naps, she didn't take a nap Monday or Tuesday this week. Then yesterday she played with her cousins so didn't get a nap again. She crashed on the couch at 4:30 in the afternoon in her clothes and never woke up. Well, she woke up for a second so we brought her to her bed, still in her clothes, and she stayed asleep. She came into my room at 1 and hung out for almost an hour, watching shows on my phone. Then I brought her to the bathroom, put her pajamas on her, and put her back in bed at 2:00 a.m. She slept till 7. That was her longest night yet! And earliest bedtime by far.

On Thursdays we have been trying to do a play group at my mom's with my sister and sisters-in-law. This is Mckinley with all her boy cousins eating popsicles outside at Grandma's. So fun!

She wore a hole in the knee of her jeans. Kind of makes me tear up a little to think I have a child old enough and active enough to do that. I love it! I may turn these into cut off shorts for the summer because they were such cute jeans.

This is one of my favorite pictures that Brandon took on his phone. Playing trouble with her "aminals." She still says that word wrong and I kind of love it.

She put this on in Target and said "I'm a bad guy."

Lately she has been having birthday parDee's with her animals and making them party hats.

The other day outside she walked to the outside wall of our house and said "I'm just giving our house a kiss Mom." Where she comes up with this stuff, I don't know, but I can't get enough!

Putting Sleeping Beauty Aurora in the exersaucer. She has always treated her dolls and toys like real people. So sweet!

Swimming

For Valentine's Day Brandon bought us another night's stay at the hotel in Lehi.

Right when we got there Mckinley ran over to the window to take a peek at the pool.

This picture sums up our trip in a nutshell. Mckinley loves swimming. It's adorable how excited she gets about it.

And just some other pictures now that we got Brandon's pictures uploaded to the computer.

Love sleeping pictures!

These next two were sick sleeping pictures though. Still cute, but very sad. We have had a miserable couple weeks, with all five of us being sick with the longest lasting cold there ever was. It's still lingering now. Warm weather could not come sooner for us!

Love that cute tongue!

Tyler and Kallie are 5 months old now. It's crazy how fast they grow and how much they are learning. They are going to be mobile before we know it.

Snow

A little too late, we finally let Mckinley go out and play in the snow. Thanks to these awesome pants and boots we borrowed from my mom and sister.

The snow was pretty crusty, but she had fun anyway.

Brandon kind of had to push her arms and legs into the snow to make the snow angel.

His and hers.

Maybe next year we will let her go out when it's still fresh. But oh how I hate being out in the snow.

A few other random pictures...

Tyler eyeing my cake pop.

On one of those still cold, but not unbearably cold days, we took a walk.

I can't get over this smile!

Tyler wearing his cute suit to Church (we didn't even get him out of his car seat while we were there).

One night when Mckinley tried to come in our room in the middle of the night I told her to go back to her room. In the morning when I went to get the babies, this is where I found Mckinley. Ha ha ha.
