Cabin

I took the kids to the cabin (without Brandon) for 2 nights. It was hard, and a little crazy, but in the end it was fun.

The first day was super windy but we still got out for a quick run on the new kayaks.

Amy, Kristen and I have 13 kids between the 3 of us. It is a lot, and it felt like a lot. :) So glad Dayne came because Amy and I didn't have our husbands there.

The lake was full and so gorgeous.

The first night we were there I couldn't find Ava and then I realized she had put herself to bed.

Talking to Dad.

The kids were dying to kayak over to the island, so we did, a few times, and it was really fun.

The kids went swimming in the lake for the first time ever, and fully clothed.

Lots and lots of swinging.

We went for a drive both evenings and saw tons of deer, some of them super close to the road. It was so fun!

We went on a hike for the first time too and it was pretty steep and Ava complained the whole way, but it was gorgeous.

Tyler and Maverik spent a ton of time building this little fort. It was pretty cool.

I mean, really, you can't beat this view. We are the only cabin that even has a view of the lake. It's the best.

There were tons of huge hawks flying around and this is one of their feathers that we found by the lake.

4th of July

Took the kids to the Provo River Trail by our old town home. We got lucky enough to see some ducks and feed them. We had a good time.

Our first pond trip of the year. We didn't have any boats or anything but someone was nice enough to give our kids a turn on their kayak. We still had a great time, it was just a quick trip.

Went and checked out the new park/splash pad by my parents' house.

Fireworks with neighbors.

Ava and Zoli had a good time playing together while he was 2 houses down for a few months this summer.

Bedroom sleepover while watching all sorts of fireworks out the windows!

Our 4th of July was great this year, even with the entire Freedom Festival being cancelled because of COVID. The only thing we did differently was just not go go the balloons. We never do the parade or the Stadium of Fire anyway so we still had a great holiday.

The ever creative Mckinley, turning a die cut into a hair clip. :)

The highlight of the day for me was a fun dinner picnic by the bell tower at BYU. We saw baby ducks!!! Why do I love baby ducks so much?
