Hawaii: Day 1

We woke up nice and early the first day (jet lag) and were excited to go explore. Breakfast (and pretty much every meal) out on the gorgeous deck.

The beauty! We headed out to Paradise Cove beach that Nedra told us always has turtles at it.

The path to the beach was gorgeous.

We climbed around on the rocks for a bit.

Tyler found this big dead crab and thought it was pretty cool.

Got to play with these cute crab for a bit!

We asked a lady to take our picture. She was from there and she said there are always turtles at this beach. Her husband was swimming in the water with one and so we saw it poke it's head out of the water, but we didn't bring our snorkel stuff with us, as we were headed up to the north shore to snorkel at Shark's Cove today.

Made our way up the North Shore and checked out the cute town of Haleiwa.

Saw the wild chickens everyone talks about.

We had woken up so early that Matsumoto Shave Ice wasn't even open yet, ha ha. We headed up to Three Tables Beach that Bryant had told me is a good place for snorkeling but the surf looked a little rough so we didn't stay, and we moved on to Shark's Cove.

Got to Shark's Cove and at first hardly anyone was there. It definitely got busier later, and for good reason. The snorkeling was so fun! There were fish everywhere, including huge schools of hundreds of fish. We had a great time there!

After Shark's Cove we continued on to check out the temple. It was gorgeous of course and we had a good time walking all around the grounds and then the missionaries saw us at the end and told us to go inside the visitor's center for free postcards so we went and checked that out too.

Huge snail we saw at the temple!

The visitor center was so cute!

Cool model of the temple.

We ate at McDonald's and then headed to Hukilau beach which Kawehi had told us is Kalani's favorite beach. This day was pretty cloudy so for the most part we didn't even use any sunscreen. We had a great time playing in the waves for hours!

It felt like we ha the whole place to ourselves. And this picture of Ava drying off Jackson's face is just adorable.

We decided to continue around and basically drive around the whole island to make our way back home since it was pretty much sixes either way. That other side of the island was sooo fun to drive through. It was so pretty and we were driving right by the ocean which was really cool. Went though this little tunnel and then another huge one after. So cool!

Got back for Melona popsicles out on the deck before we headed out to go swimming in the pool.

The little rain falls we had that day made for some beautiful rainbows. I love this picture!

Love this one too of Brandon taking a picture of the kids at sunset.

We had an absolutely amazing first full day!!!
