Our run in with the prophet!!

Brandon and I had something pretty exciting happen to us this weekend. We were able to shake hands with the prophet!!!

So on Saturday night we went to this dinner in Salt Lake with Brandon's parents. It's one of the fancy shmancy dinners we go to for Nu Skin. We've actually gone to this one like 3 years in a row I think. It's a dinner auction to raise money for an African city to help them out or something. I don't really know, I'll be honest, we just go for the food. :) The dinner was at the Little America hotel.

Anyway, so as soon as we were done eating, we took off. And on our way out, President Monson and his wife walked out of the elevator, like 10 feet away from us. I was like oh my gosh, that's President Monson. All four of us just sort of sat there and watched him start to walk away from us. Then all of a sudden Brandon just took off after him. I caught up to Brandon and we followed President Monson like half way down the hall until finally Brandon just reached up and put his hand on President Monson's shoulder to turn him around. Brandon said "Excuse me President Monson, can I shake your hand?" And so he shook Brandon's hand and then shook mine.

Then he complimented me on my dress. I think he said something like "Well that's quite a nice outfit you've got on." I borrowed the dress from Shellee and I'm so glad I did!!!

So then President Monson asked us why we were there and we explained to him about the dinner we went to. Then Brandon's parents came up and shook his hand also and then President Monson told us he had just come from the conference center where he was speaking at the general YW meeting. He told us his daughter spoke as well, told us she was in the YW General Presidency and that her name was Ann Dibb. As if we didn't know. :) It was so cute. Just like any proud parent.

And that was pretty much it. But man, what an amazing experience! And none of it would have happened if it weren't for Brandon running after him determined that he was going to shake the prophet's hand. Brandon did the exact same thing in the airport two years ago when we saw President Eyring. We were on the way back from our cruise and we saw him standing there so we went up and shook his hand. Brandon gets as excited as a little kid, and I love it.

I was sad I didn't bring my camera with me into the dinner so I made Brandon take a picture of me after we got home. We could have had our picture taken with President Monson. Darn!

I think I'm in Love

With my glitter toes! I got them done over the weekend with Shannon and Haley and it was so fun and I absolutely love them. This could turn into an expensive addiction...

They put this gel stuff on your toe nails and then just pour glitter straight on it.

Then they go under this light to harden the gel.

The finished product. Feel free to click on the picture to see them close up.

Now if we could just get some more good weather so I can wear flip flops again!!!

Exciting News!!!

It's been a while...but I finally have something exciting to post about! Yesterday my parents got their mission call!!!

I'm amazed my dad was patient enough to wait till 7 p.m. till we all came over before he opened it. He was so excited.

I love this picture. Brandon is holding Todd (on speaker phone), Emily is holding Kristen, and there are two phones in my mom's hands, one with Amy and one with Ken on it. So the whole family was there!

Look how cute they are. They are going to serve in the Hong Kong Temple and they go into the MTC on August 24th. We will miss them but I am so excited for them to have this experience. They both served in Hong Kong when they were single (yes, same mission, same time, but no, they didn't not meet there) and so this has been their dream to go back.

Here's me and Bran. Self portrait as always. :)

This picture isn't that great but for some reason I'm including it anyway...

Here are some of the grand kids having a look at the Hong Kong Temple where my mom and dad will be spending a LOT of time.

Congratulations Mom and Dad! We love you and are so excited for you!
