Disneyland - Day 5

The last time we went to Disneyland we ended up doing 2 days at California Adventure. Brandon and I were both torn about where to go the 3rd day and honestly we were wishing we just bought a 2 day pass. We were kind of just done. There were a few things I still wanted to do in both parks but we could only choose one and we knew we would go where the whole group went.

Disneyland it was.

Thursday was our worst day ever, even with the magic morning pass, it was so crowded and every single ride had insanely long rides.

I got to ride Autopia for the first time in my life.

Then we hit up Toon Town which the kids had never seen. We did so much sitting around, it felt like kind of a wasted day.

We walked inside Mickey's House for two seconds. We would have had to wait 45 minutes to go to Minnie's house. So lame.

Brandon got to take Mckinley and Tyler on Splash Mountain and they closed down the ride right after they got on because of a medical emergency so those of us waiting with babies couldn't go.

I wanted to go on Indiana Jones really bad. It's one of my favorite rides and I haven't been on it for years. But the wait was way too long. Brandon took the kids up to Tarzan's Treehouse, then we waited in line for Nemo, rode the monorail for the first time, and headed home. The worst of our 3 days in the parks but we still made some good memories.

We went home and got in the hot tub for our last night there. Friday we drove the whole way home and our kids were amazing. Ava seriously slept almost the whole way home. It was incredible! We went from warm weather back to freezing again. We got out in Nephi at the gas station to go to the bathroom and the kids and I had to run out across the back parking lot to the bathrooms. It was 5 degrees outside and the kids were in shorts and short sleeve shirts. Brr!!! We were choking on the cold air. Anyway, it was a fabulous trip to Disneyland, it went so much better than I could have expected. And now I think we're good for another year or two!

Disneyland - Day 4

Wednesday we took a break from the parks. We went swimming at the pool and had a great time.

Then we headed off to the beach. We always go to Huntington Beach and eat at the restaurant out on the pier but we tried something new this year and went to Laguna Beach. The reason we went there was for some tide pools which totally didn't pan out but hey, the beach was close and had easy access and the kids loved it so it was perfect.

Ava was super fussy getting ready to go to the beach and then she slept for us almost the entire time we were there. I'll take it!

It was a little chilly but the kids had fun getting their feet wet and playing in the sand.

I forgot to mention that on Sunday night three people threw up. Kallie, Abby, and Emery. But then they were all fine Monday to go to Disneyland. Wednesday morning while we were at the pool Shellee was throwing up in her room. Brandon started feeling sick at the beach but we still went out to eat with everyone in Laguna Beach before we went back to the hotel. He threw up in the middle of the night and then was fine. Kade also threw up that night. And since we have been home two more people have gotten sick. So there was a weird bug going around, but luckily it was pretty mild and didn't slow us down too much.

The sun was setting as we were driving to the restaurant and I snapped this picture as we drove by.

Disneyland - Day 3

Tuesday we went to California Adventure. We had the best time! I took the kids straight to some kiddie rides and of course there were no lines at all. Brandon went to get fast passes for Cars.

We were only able to go on Cars once but it was so fun. Mckinley and Tyler loved it.

My hair was flying everywhere! Tyler and Kallie are both next to Brandon, both basically hidden. Kallie barely didn't reach 40 inches so we stuffed her shoes with socks, and I think the lady was just nice to let her on cars. Because she got rejected for other stuff.

We really wanted Kallie to be able to go on Soarin. They changed the video and it is Soarin over the world now. We stuffed her shoes with fruit snack packets so she would be tall enough to go. Totally worth it!

Completely exhausted by the end of the day. They all fell asleep sitting up.

Disneyland - Day 2

We left Vegas early to avoid the traffic and still got stopped in traffic from an accident. It was so sad, we drove by right after it happened and saw them doing CPR on a guy. Then Brandon's brother drove after us and saw that the guy didn't make it. Definitely made us grateful to be safe.

This picture of Kallie sleeping in the car kills me!! She looks so incredibly uncomfortable.

So driving to California we drove in some craaaazy rain! We had really bad fog at one point and people were driving so slow with their hazards on. A little scary. But we got there safe.

When we got to our hotel we found out the pool was being renovated. They said we could use the pool at the hotel next door but it poured rain the ENTIRE day so of course we couldn't swim that day. The kids were so disappointed.

We went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory with 17 people, only 6 of which were adults. It was a little crazy! We ordered Mckinley a kids meal for the first time ever. She chose salmon.

Ava's first sink bath. They only had a shower in our room so this is where she got her baths.

The next morning even though we knew it would rain we went to Disneyland anyway. And it ended up being the best day ever at Disneyland! It didn't rain much and there were no lines. It was amazing! We had such a great day and went on so many rides.

Brandon took the kids on the carousel while I was in line for Peter Pan. The band rode right in front of them and played music the whole time. So fun.

Peter pan!

I got to go on Matterhorn for the first time in my life. Mckinley came with me and Brandon took the other kids on the Storybrook ride.

Meeting princesses. This was the scariest looking Snow White I have ever seen. I know that's rude to say, but it's true.

Splash mountain! Tyler's face kills me. Brandon told him they take your picture and to do a crazy face so I think he was screaming, on purpose. But probably scared too.

Karen and I with all the babies/strollers while everyone else went on Thunder Mountain Railroad.

The skies cleared up since our first picture by the castle in the morning.

Kallie loved the rocket ride and told Brandon that the next time we come to Disneyland she wants to ride that one first.

Ava was such a trooper letting us drag her around everywhere. As depressed as I have been that nursing didn't work out for her, it was really nice to be doing bottles on this trip. It made travelling and our time in the parks very easy!

We left the park early that night because it was freezing and the twins had fallen asleep. We ran over to the hot tub at the hotel next door and had a great time. It was a huge awesome hot tub and really nice pool.
