Mckinley was so excited for her birthday (of course) and all she wanted to do was go swimming. We were going to try to surprise the kids with a little family trip to Park City but then like 5 days before her birthday she broke her wrist on my parents' trampoline and the doctor told her she couldn't swim for three weeks. So the Park City trip didn't happen. So sad. When we were in the doctors office and she found out she couldn't swim she said "that's okay, there are lots of other fun things we can do for my birthday." Always so positive and sweet. I just love her.
Brandon made her breakfast in bed. This is 6 years of a Mickey Mouse pancake on her birthday.
Opening presents from her siblings. So sweet.
She wanted a friend party and had been planning it and changing the theme ever since her last birthday, but in the end we told her we thought we should just do a family birthday this year. So we invited her cousins over to watch a movie and have cake and ice cream. She thought it was the best birthday ever!
We were going to take her to Pizza Factory that night (her request) but ended up having a family get together instead, so a week or so later we took her out for her birthday. This has been a tradition for the past three years. She loves getting her pizza in the shape of her age and getting her white smoothie. So yum!
She is 6 years old and more mature than me most of the time. Mckinley is just amazing. I love every single thing about her. She is one of a kind!!! We feel like the luckiest parents ever to have her in our family.
